Caern Description
The Caern itself is relatively small in comparison to the Bawn. But all together, the area is around 800 acres of land with a few city blocks to be "inside the Bawn". The Caern is in the exact cernter of this land, almost covered evenly on all sides by the Bawn. The homes of most of the Caern members reside in the Bawn, while a few choose to remain elsewhere. This land is "owned" by Blaine Freenar, who bought it off as well as most of the buildings on the outskirts. It is encircled partially by a eight foot high fence topped with barb wire and a few "surpises" for those that try digging under. The lock is closed at all times and Kinfolk who live within the Bawn are given a key or are let in and out by a Guardian. It is suggested that most not come through the gate physically during the day time, so as not to pull attention to a supposed Private Property area. The Umbra is usually the safest route. Those who live or have been there know the deal with the lock or may even possess a key. Once past the gate, there is a long stretch of field leading into the woods. Notably and thanks to the Glass Walkers, most structures within the Bawn have electricity and running water.
Places of Note
The City Blocks
The Bawn is considered to hold about a block and a half worth of concrete and steel. Here the Glass Walkers reign. Like the actual woodlands, Blaine Freenar has purchased nearly all the buildings within this area. Those that aren't offically in his custody are run down and decriped, offering prime places for sqauters who aren't scared off by various Rites in place thanks to the Bone Gnawers. This also includes the main entrance gate. One of the buildings holds Mr. Freenar's company, which is mainly ran by he and a few Glass Walkers. Another building of note is the once small hotel turned appartment building. Here, Blaine makes sure any Garou or Kin that need a place to stay get their needs met. His rent is flexable, depending on the individual. But upkeep demands a price, after all!
The Warders Cabin
Johny Apple Core built this building with his bare hands after the Caern was built. It was designed to house he and the Guardian's on break should they desire. It's nothing fancy and is down right humble. The front porch sports two rocking chairs and room to sit along the banister. Also a small grill for cooking is present in the corner. Inside one steps into a small living room which sports an old couch the color of tar and two mismatched chairs to relax in. They incircle a decent sized fire place that keeps the cabin warm in the winter time. Off to the side is the kitchen which holds a small range, oven, sink, a few cabnets and a fridge. On the fridge is the note "Please Replace Anything Taken In Some Way, Shape Or Form". Beside the fridge is a step down that leads to a pantry that holds shelves of canned goods as well as mason jars full of the Warder's prized 'shine. At the back, a small freezer holds a varity of meats and frozen goods donated and kept up by the Sept members. There is also a small fire pit outside for those off duty to gather at night and shoot the breeze.
The River
Running straight from the Smithville Lake is a small river that winds throughout the Bawn. In spots, it narrows down to creeks and sports humble little bends for fishing, or in some cases like Cyperus Redwoods Bark of the Nuwisha, a nice home. The pesky Nuwisha has built his den along the most comfy of river bends and has yet to be driven away. A number of the Gurahl allies are also seen along the river from time to time, harvesting Gaia's sweet river fruit...All and all, it's a nice place to relax for some and fishing is decent.
The Lake
A good part of the Smithville Lake is placed on one side of the Bawn. Most have learned that one section of this large lake is Private Property and any trespassers are driven away as kindly as possible if various Rites enacted don't. At one point, the Mokole Wallow of Gaia's Sacred Memeory resided here. But after one to many fights with the Garou and misunderstandings, they left for supposed warmer climate knowing they couldn't defeat the Garou. But those who live within the Bawn now are free to fish and swim when they please.
The Trails
Technically, this term isn't pliable. The Bawn actually has no trails, but one gets a sense of direction upon learning the Bawn proper. Most of the time, people get the feeling of being watched if they are "newer" to the Sept. This being the Guardian's on their routine. But it can still create an eerie feeling to those not used to the grounds and even more so to those that get lost. Most Sept members don't fall under the Rituals that help Guard the Caern after awhile, but at times they can swear something weird goes on for the first few trips through the woods.
The Shadow Lord Lodge
When the Caern was first built, the Shadow Lords were one of the most dominant and no doubt the most powerful Tribe. Not only that, they sported the Grand Elder. Upon her wishes, a Lodge was built to house her Tribe and their Kinfolk. The structure is decent sized, being as she made sure that most would have their own room and she hoped to bring more of the Tribe in. Stepping inside, there is a small kitchen complete with range, stove, fridge, cabinets, sink and a bit of counter space. The walls were left wooden to give it a more woodsy feel. Off to the left is a small living room like study. A leather couch, a recliner and rocking chair circle a glass coffee table. A small shelf with a number of books lies in one corner. The room also sports a decent sized fire place. To the right of the kitchen leads to a hallway lined with eight rooms. Basically four on each side. On the end nearest to the entrance lies a room to the side, which holds the Grand Elder's private study. On the opposite end lies a bathroom and the other a stair case leading to the loft, which splits into two seperate "rooms". One of these belongs to the Grand Elder and the other is currently empty. The rooms are furnished with beds, a bit of closet space and a small dresser. One notably has bunk beds, in case more space is needed. Otherwise, everyone is allowed their own room.
The Fenrir Lodge
Easily becoming the second most powerful, if not -the- most powerful Tribe within the Sept, the Fenrir took the Lords' idea of a lodge and made it happen. Built by the Jarl and a few others, they made a small but cozy home for the Tribe that wished to have one. Stepping inside is much like the Lords' Lodge, seeing as one finds themself in a small kitchen that sports nearly the same attire: Stove, fridge, cabnets and a small bit of counter space. Also a small two person table is located by the door. To the left, like the Lords' Lodge is a living room. An old beat up couch and two mismatched laz-e-boy chairs are placed infront of the fire place. A door a yard or so behind the couch leads to the "Meeting Hall", or so it's called. Basicly a small room with two windows and a large, long wooden table made to seat atleast fifteen people. A few pack trophies line the wall, including the head of one of the Lupus Silver Spirals that infiltrated the Caern a few years ago. But, going back to the kitchen and too the right leads to a small hall way that sports six bedrooms. Two to the left, three to the right and one small one at the far end that belongs to the Jarl. On the opposite end is a small bathroom. One room holds bunk beds, while one merely holds a palete on the floor to accomidate Roland's Metis form. Cole's room is closed more often then not, not that many infiltrate the Godi's territory. Gary along with his mate and Kaelin have both claimed their own rooms while Kurt's old bunk is no longer claimed leaving the room to others who may arrive in the future. But otherwise, a decent bed, closet or drawer space and some space of their own is offered to the Tribe Members. Outside the lodge, by the door rests stacks of fire wood and several yards away lies a small fire pit circled with logs or large stones.
The Actual Caern
The actual Caern is relativly small. It sports a small underground cave that is the actual heart of the Caern hidden away. Gathered around this cave is logs placed for seating around a large bonfire pit. There is also a small bolder in which the Grand Elder perches on to reside over the Moot and rule over The Cracking of The Bone. Off to each side are two large circles outlined with decent sized stones covered in Glyphs. One, the smallest, is the Ritual Circle in which Cole or any Assitants vist. This is also where most cleansings and summonings are done. The other circle, much larger, is the Combat circle. Here, all challenges are laid down and others are taught combat skills. Those who fight a challenge or strike another outside this circle are considered Dishonorable and suffer renown loss. Those who do settle thier disputs and such are praised.
Freenar Appartments
The Glass Walkers have money to spare half the time and Blaine Freenar made sure when he bought up the land, he got a nearby hotel that once served tourists as a nice, wood surrounded place to stay. Once the land was his, he did a little fixing up to them to turn them into livable appartments for Garou and Kinfolk who needed a place to stay when they had none and the Bawn wasn't suitable to them. Normally, he charges a normal amount of cash just keep the place up and running but depending on the person or how kind hearted he's feeling(It's rare he isn't), he may let someone stay for free so long as the fee is returned to the Caern in some manner.
Fianna Lodge
The Fianna Lodge was meant to be home to the Fianna Tribe of Shadow Crest Caern. While they were once the most numerous, they lost their numbers after Bloody Samhaine occurred. The rooms were left empty for over half the Tribe's numbers. Only Madness and Hatter seemed to remain behind until recently. When Breath of Fog arrived and began working with the two Silver Fangs at the Sept at the time, she eventually asked if they could all stay there. Since it would be a waste to let all the space be left bare it was agreed they can stay. The Fianna Lodge is technically home to the Silver Fangs as well now. The Lodge was made grand and of decent size, housing more rooms then the Tribe originally boasted along with a 'commons room' and a kitchen. Several of the rooms even have their own bathrooms. Each bedroom that has been claimed has been given it's own interior design as seen fit to the owner. Otherwise, most of it seems part gloomy, part Celtic and part..Average.

An interesting note as of 2010: Several heads one pikes are located around the Lodge and within the Umbra. It seems the Fianna have some weird Rites going on, but it seems the Elders are allowing for Rite of the Foeman's Vigil to be used.
The Grave of the Hollowed Heroes
Off by itself within the Bawn lies a small grove of trees. As if to respect those laid to rest there, it is eerie silent. Not one bird chirps, nor does anything stir. But it's not hauntingly so, merely peaceful. Within the grove lies the markers of each who fell in battle or died Honorably. In some cases, the body lies below the marker. These markers are most often trees with Glyphs honoring the fallen carved into them, but in some cases boulders or small rocks are used as tombstones.
Take a stroll into the grove to honor the fallen...
